Free The Dream (Part 3) You Decide To Be Alive with The Mindset Answerman Cliff Ravenscraft

Cliff is a business mentor, coach, and public speaker. He can help you take your message, business, and life to the next level so that you can live your dream life and do the things you feel most called to do in the world.

In this episode, Cliff discusses the “50 Things I Want” exercise he has designed, which entails writing down 50 things you would like to have in your life or something you already have but would like to see more frequently.

Cliff advises that from the 50 items, you should create a new list of the top 10 things you desire or dream about, with the first three items being your top three goals. Once you have that, you have granted yourself the liberty to begin dreaming, yearning, and seeking.

Through this activity, Cliff assists individuals in reconnecting with their ability to visualize what they wish to create and gaining clarity as to why they desire this. He is also directing people to come to a place of making a decision. A decision is an incredibly powerful thing; it’s cutting yourself off from any other outcome other than seeing that dream become a reality.

Cliff also tells us about a client she had dealt with who underwent a remarkable shift and found fulfillment in it. Her client started listening to their podcast when she was a teenager, according to Cliff. As a child, she endured some physical abuse. As a result, she attempted suicide and disconnected from the world as early as her teenage years.

Cliff has built a forum for their listeners online. And at the time, it had approximately 40,000 to 50,000 subscribers; this client was one of them. She began socializing with people outside of her household for the first time. She developed relationships with other individuals. They developed such friendships with people from all over the globe that she began to meet with them outside of her house.

She is currently cultivating these significant partnerships and beginning to emerge from her depression. She dreams to become a world traveler.

Now, she has become widely recognized in the online community. Through social media, she has established a small community and a following.

Later on, her client completed Cliff’s A-Z course and launched a podcast titled Fighting Anorexia. Then, a documentary was made about her life. She has appeared in numerous magazines, television show,s and radio, and she has begun a body image coaching career. That is the day she becomes an inspiration to women around the globe.

Cliff Ravenscraft discusses with Dr. Brad how we can eliminate limiting ideas that are preventing us from living the life we desire.

Cliff Ravenscraft’s story is a motivational, inspiring, and influential of a person who continually finds the best path in his life, and follows the mission of his life, which is to be of service to other people.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

The first thing that I do is I start in a conversation and ask

Cliff Ravenscraft:

What do you truly desire? What do you want? What's on your heart? What do you want to create in this world?

Cliff Ravenscraft:

What do you want to create in this world?

Dr. Brad Miller:

You help them define that with some tools and things like this as well

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I have an exercise, it's called the “50 Things I want” exercise

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Without any filters without asking, Is this possible? Is this selfish? Is this materialistic?

Cliff Ravenscraft:

What is something you don't currently have in your life that you would like to have in your life

Cliff Ravenscraft:

something you currently have in your life, but you would like to see it show up even more consistently.

Dr. Brad Miller:

It could be a new car, it could be a better marriage, it could be anything like that, right?

Cliff Ravenscraft:

It could be anything. The only thing is the caveat

Cliff Ravenscraft:

You must come up with 50.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And if it comes to your mind, without any judgment

Cliff Ravenscraft:

You must put it on the piece of paper.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

what I do is I have them take from those top 50. And I say, hey, let's pull out of the 50.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Just find 10 that you think should be on your top 10 Dreams list.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Your top 10 doesn't have to be in any order at all

Cliff Ravenscraft:

once you're going through the list of 50, and you're coming up with your top 10

Cliff Ravenscraft:

All of a sudden, a new idea that should be on your top 10 comes up

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I say hey, why don't you go ahead and write that into the top 10 and just add it as a 51st item.

Dr. Brad Miller:

What I've loved about those, it's a process. it's not just a feeling, it's a process.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Yes, this is absolutely a process. And then what you do

Cliff Ravenscraft:

You say okay, out of these 10, top 10 dreams

Cliff Ravenscraft:

What is most important to you? You put that in position number one

Cliff Ravenscraft:

of your top three goals, out of the remaining nine, top 10 dreams,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

what's most important to you, but that is number two, out of the remaining eight, top 10 dreams

Cliff Ravenscraft:

what's most important to you put that as number three,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Now you have your top 10 dreams, you have your top three goals

Cliff Ravenscraft:

to go after in life. And once you have that,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

you have the ability, and you've given yourself

Cliff Ravenscraft:

the freedom to begin dreaming

Cliff Ravenscraft:

to begin wanting to begin desiring.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Again. These are things we've been conditioned not to do.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

So the first thing that I do is I try to help people reconnect with their ability

Cliff Ravenscraft:

To have a vision without vision people will perish.

Dr. Brad Miller:

Sounds a little bit biblical to me my friend.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Having a vision of what you want to create is essential.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

That's the first thing that I do is help people reconnect

Cliff Ravenscraft:

to their ability to imagine what they want to create

Cliff Ravenscraft:

because thoughts become things. Then what I do

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I help people get clarity about why do they want this?

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Is this what they truly want? Or is this what they've been taught and conditioned

Cliff Ravenscraft:

to believe that they should want? Is this something you want for yourself?

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Or is this something you believe will it will appease somebody

Cliff Ravenscraft:

that you're in relationship with that this is something they want for you and

Cliff Ravenscraft:

you want to appease them, because we want to get clarity

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Oftentimes if if this isn't our dream, but we're trying to make somebody else's dream

Cliff Ravenscraft:

that suppose that they wish were my dream, you'll never be able to accomplish

Dr. Brad Miller:

that'd be your dream not to dream for somebody else or for your history

Dr. Brad Miller:

job or your parents or anything else. Then what I do is.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I help people come to the place of making a decision. And decision

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Decision is incredibly powerful thing; it's cutting yourself off from any other outcome other

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Other than seeing that dream become a reality

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Because the way I like to think about this is how this language we've been using

Cliff Ravenscraft:

through this entire conversation about a lot about living. You know, these dreams

Cliff Ravenscraft:

are there for a reason. And it's what life is all about. I mean

Cliff Ravenscraft:

we're here for just a speck.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

if even if you live 120 years on this planet,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

if you look at the history of human life here

Cliff Ravenscraft:

that's nothing. All right, so So you're and guys, if I'm here I want to live I want to see or I want to create

Cliff Ravenscraft:

If I'm here I want to live I want to see or I want to create

Dr. Brad Miller:

if you're going to live you might phrase, I've heard recently is drop dead

Dr. Brad Miller:

You mean you want to live to the very end, you want to live your fullest

Dr. Brad Miller:

to the very end at first, of course, you a lot of That's Biblical as well.

Dr. Brad Miller:

tell us about a person or situation that has had a transformation

Dr. Brad Miller:

that you've been a part of that process and how that's fulfilling to you in and of itself.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I'll give you an example of this and it kind of threads the

Cliff Ravenscraft:

whole thing together and I didn't think of what story I would tell until this just moment so you're ready for this.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Anna Sofia Reinhardt from Germany in 2005. She started listening to our podcast when she was is only a teenager.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she had some abuse trauma in her young childhood.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she had experienced some physical abuse as a child.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And as a result of that, as in her teens, she had already tried to commit suicide.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she had unplugged from the world, she would not leave her house

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She had every sort of fear that you could possibly imagine.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She locked herself in a room and the one thing that she did was watch TV all the time, she watched television shows

Cliff Ravenscraft:

all the time, she watched television shows. by the way, she lived in Germany.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She's watching American television shows like the TV show lost the television

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Desperate Housewives, the television show Grey's Anatomy, just so happened that my wife and I had podcasts on all three of those

Dr. Brad Miller:

All right, very good.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

All right, in, we created a bunch

Cliff Ravenscraft:

of other family and entertainment based shows,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

faith based shows and all this other stuff. So, we created an online

Cliff Ravenscraft:

forum for our listeners.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And at the time, it had about 40,000, maybe 50,000 members,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

in this online discussion forum, all of us our podcast listeners

Cliff Ravenscraft:

A percentage of our podcast listeners and Anna Sophie was one of them as a teenager.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And Anna Sophie was one of them as a teenager. And she began for the first time

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Interacting with other people outside of her household.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She developed friendships with other people.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And she realized, oh, my gosh, I'm not all alone in this world, she began to interact with

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Myself and my wife, she started listening, leaving listener feedback

Cliff Ravenscraft:

and sharing her voice. And we would respond to her in the podcast, we had

Cliff Ravenscraft:

conversations with her online, she began to develop such friendships

Cliff Ravenscraft:

with other people all around the world, that she

Cliff Ravenscraft:

began to meet with them outside of her home.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She eventually started with people who lived, you know, relatively

Cliff Ravenscraft:

close to her. But all of a sudden, she's making trips to London to meet

Cliff Ravenscraft:

with somebody she met online, like a girlfriend

Cliff Ravenscraft:

that she's met online. she's developing

Cliff Ravenscraft:

these meaningful relationships. And now she's starting

Cliff Ravenscraft:

to really come out of that depression and fog.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

then she all of a sudden

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she's coming alive. And she is now has

Cliff Ravenscraft:

a dream of being a world traveler. She's traveling all over.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I mean, like all over Europe, all over the world

Cliff Ravenscraft:

into the United States. She comes in lives in the United States

Cliff Ravenscraft:

for I think, at least a year or something like that

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Maybe more. And she starts attending live events

Cliff Ravenscraft:

where my wife and I are hosting these live events, she came and shot her and her

Cliff Ravenscraft:

sister came and stayed in our home for like, over a week at one time.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And I mean, it's this, she just, she's just come alive.

Dr. Brad Miller:

That's what it's all about when you get fulfilment by seeing others transform.

Dr. Brad Miller:

That's what it's really all about, for me, at least.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

So she’s now become very popular in our online community. She's developed

Cliff Ravenscraft:

a little bit of a community and a following of her own through social media channels.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Eventually, at one point, she hires me

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she goes through my podcasting A to Z courses and says

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Oh, let me just tell you that she started blogging. And one of the things

Cliff Ravenscraft:

that she blogged was actually going in and seeking treatment

Cliff Ravenscraft:

and healing from anorexia.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she had to had a bad case of anorexia.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she goes in she blogs about the entire experience including

Cliff Ravenscraft:

authentically, transparently the time she left when they told her not to leave.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She's like, Listen, I'm done with this. This is too much. And when she went back, and she completed

Cliff Ravenscraft:

her her treatment there. So later, she

Cliff Ravenscraft:

then comes to me and says, Cliff, I want to go through your podcasting a to z course. I want you

Cliff Ravenscraft:

To teach me how to have a podcast. And she created a podcast called fighting anorexia.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Now she began to develop an audience

Cliff Ravenscraft:

in the 1000s of women

Cliff Ravenscraft:

and I don't know probably men as well, who are fighting anorexia.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

So she comes to a conference that I was the director of.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

I just director of podcasting for Blogworld New Media Expo. She comes to New York

Cliff Ravenscraft:

City. Anna Sophie and I are walking down the streets

Cliff Ravenscraft:

in New York City, and I'm not kidding. Some girls came

Cliff Ravenscraft:

and says, “Oh, my gosh, you're Anna Sophie”

Cliff Ravenscraft:

They recognize her. And later that day, she hosted a meet up

Cliff Ravenscraft:

and there were tons of women who showed up for her meetup. By the way,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

since then, she's had a documentary told about her story.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

She's been featured in multiple magazines. She's been on television

Cliff Ravenscraft:

on radio, and she began a coaching career

Cliff Ravenscraft:

of helping people with body image. Today,

Cliff Ravenscraft:

she is somebody who is inspiring

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Women all over the world.

Dr. Brad Miller:

Inspiring people and be an inspiration. That's part of what

Dr. Brad Miller:

You're all about Cliff, you've been an inspiration

Dr. Brad Miller:

to me and many others. And what a great story. So, if other people want to be inspired

Dr. Brad Miller:

by you, like, Sophie and myself and others. How can people

Dr. Brad Miller:

find out more about you? Where can they find you and get connected to what you're all about?

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Well, I know that many people are going to be listening to this as a podcast.

you free, is breaking free from beliefs that are

Cliff Ravenscraft:

holding you back from living the life you feel you are called to live.

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And I demonstrate how I was doing this, I was sabotaging myself by refusing

Cliff Ravenscraft:

to take people's money. When they were clearly like

Cliff Ravenscraft:

Cliff, let me pay you money for what you've just helped me do. And I'm like, listen, now, this was

Cliff Ravenscraft:

too easy. I didn't earn your money. And we're talking $300

Cliff Ravenscraft:

And I'm like, No, I cannot take

Cliff Ravenscraft:

your $300. it's like you're not. like I'm giving

Cliff Ravenscraft:

believe. And in this talk, you'll learn how to break free from

Cliff Ravenscraft:

any limiting belief that's holding you back.

Dr. Brad Miller:
