Brad Miller:

Dr. Brad Miller here on Beyond Adversity. This

Brad Miller:

is the podcast where we help you to grow through what you go

Brad Miller:

through. And it's a thrill to day to have a person who is

Brad Miller:

going to be very helpful to all of us in processing some

Brad Miller:

difficult life experiences and coming out success and

Brad Miller:

especially with a Christian mindset, a Christian focus. Her

Brad Miller:

name is Kelly Baader. And she is the CEO of Influential

Brad Miller:

Entrepreneurs and has the Christian CEO podcast, she has

Brad Miller:

an incredibly fascinating story to tell. And she's going to be

Brad Miller:

helpful to us today, here on Beyond Adversity. Kelly, welcome

Brad Miller:

to the podcast. Thank you for having me. It is awesome to have

Brad Miller:

you here. You are quite a successful businesswoman. You're

Brad Miller:

in your own right right now. But I know that in your life, that

Brad Miller:

has not always been the case, we'll learn more about your

Brad Miller:

successes in business in just a minute, particularly, and your

Brad Miller:

emphasis as a Christian CEO, but tell us a little bit about your

Brad Miller:

background, and particularly Kelly, some of the challenges or

Brad Miller:

adversities, you may have faced that you had to become

Brad Miller:

successful in your life at this time.

Kelly Baader:

Sure. You know, I was born at a time, the time and

Kelly Baader:

a place when baby girls were not value much. We were just seeing

Kelly Baader:

as a future baby production machine, no need to invest us

Kelly Baader:

anything, especially education. And so growing up there was

Kelly Baader:

about one and a half decades of my life. Never know what gonna

Kelly Baader:

happen to me in the night because my mom and her drunken

Kelly Baader:

boyfriends, so was very dark at that seasonal time. I'm talking

Kelly Baader:

about family violence, sexual abuse.

Brad Miller:

j ust just to clarify, Kelly that was growing

Brad Miller:

up, you said the time and the place, could you clarify the

Brad Miller:

place where we're talking about?

Kelly Baader:

Well, I was born and raised in Taiwan. And then

Kelly Baader:

after that, though, while I was you know, after the university,

Kelly Baader:

and I tried to climb a corporate later that I was in very male

Kelly Baader:

dominated environment. So you know, in the US, I know that

Kelly Baader:

also movie called Hidden Figures, and which is a group of

Kelly Baader:

you know, African American ladies, for me, they are the

Kelly Baader:

real hero behind the NASA, right the project. And I remember the

Kelly Baader:

main character, C Catherine, she had to run blocks away, in order

Kelly Baader:

to go to the ladies room, I kind of experienced a similar

Kelly Baader:

situation, of course, often I was, I was one of the youngest

Kelly Baader:

corporate executives, then worse, quote, unquote, worse I,

Kelly Baader:

I'm a woman. So they were a situation of I went to the

Kelly Baader:

important business meeting or board meeting, and we don't have

Kelly Baader:

the ladies room on the same floor. And so that kind of just

Kelly Baader:

kind of tell you the situation that afterwards, even when I

Kelly Baader:

want to become an entrepreneur, wrote and publish my own book,

Kelly Baader:

"A Little Girl Called Grace" in 2012. In those days, there, not

Kelly Baader:

many podcasts at all. So we had to pitch the traditional media

Kelly Baader:

like a magazine, or radio stations and TV network. So

Kelly Baader:

after three and a half months of intensive media training, I went

Kelly Baader:

to New York now pitch those traditional media outlets, there

Kelly Baader:

were two very known that just say a journalist, we had the 90

Kelly Baader:

seconds pitch time to each of them. 30 seconds in this

Kelly Baader:

gentlemen stop me and told me say this won't work. And I asked

Kelly Baader:

it Oh, is that because this angle of the pitch of the story

Kelly Baader:

is not good enough? Or What's the reason? And he told me say,

Kelly Baader:

you know, you are a big girl since you are in business. I

Kelly Baader:

think I just should tell you the truth. I said, Yes, please. And

Kelly Baader:

he told me because you are not American. You are not British.

Kelly Baader:

English is not your first language. And so I was American,

Kelly Baader:

I will not read. So that's kind of like, oh, okay, and he said

Kelly Baader:

he's front of 100 people behind me, right? Even then, I was I

Kelly Baader:

feel very sad very down and I went back to hotel room, you

Kelly Baader:

know, cry. But then but then I went home I kind of told God

Kelly Baader:

will. writing this book is your idea is a personal story. And to

Kelly Baader:

write is difficult enough to promote is even more difficult.

Kelly Baader:

So what do you have? What do you have in mind? He said, Well, put

Kelly Baader:

your marketing hat on go to work. So after that trip, I came

Kelly Baader:

back and that moment I think Facebook ads just got started.

Kelly Baader:

So yes, I put my marketing hat on and 60 days campaign we

Kelly Baader:

launched with Facebook ads. And we hit Amazon bestseller. And in

Kelly Baader:

60 days, we saw over 13,000 books and then we roll in a mail

Kelly Baader:

a copy to.

Brad Miller:

Wow, did you hear I've just now got to ask, did

Brad Miller:

you hear back from him? No, no, of course not because he made

Brad Miller:

this point, he probably had his his way of approaching things

Brad Miller:

with whomever it was, but particularly with your

Brad Miller:

particular circumstance. He just had things that he was going to

Brad Miller:

say. And he said it and that was the end of it. Life messed with

Brad Miller:

the wrong girl and you did something about it didn't You,

Brad Miller:

wow.

Kelly Baader:

Well, I would say, you know, they messed up with

Kelly Baader:

the wrong girl because the girl has a God. Really. He just like,

Kelly Baader:

couple years later, in the entrepreneurial journey, similar

Kelly Baader:

thing happened that, you know, I felt God asked me to start a

Kelly Baader:

podcast. So now my podcast is over five years now. So about

Kelly Baader:

five, six years ago, that moment, I was in one of very

Kelly Baader:

well known business coach programs, and he is so known. He

Kelly Baader:

wish he shall remain nameless, when he asked me say, Oh, so you

Kelly Baader:

know, what do you want to do? The next step? And I said, Hey,

Kelly Baader:

I feel led to start a podcast. And his answer was, Oh, so you

Kelly Baader:

mean, you want to start a Chinese podcast? I say no,

Kelly Baader:

because 90% of my clients are in English speaking countries,

Kelly Baader:

especially in US because we live in us over 10 years. And he

Kelly Baader:

said, Oh, well, here's the thing, Kelly as American, I

Kelly Baader:

won't listen to your podcast, because you know, you have such

Kelly Baader:

a different accent. And I don't think British people will listen

Kelly Baader:

to your podcast either.

Brad Miller:

So you were had these obstacles these challenges

Brad Miller:

every step of the way growing up and in business and supposedly

Brad Miller:

if you're hiring a coach and dealing with with promotional

Brad Miller:

marketing people, you're supposed to people who may want

Brad Miller:

to help you because it would help them in their business. But

Brad Miller:

you're getting these blocks all the way Wow. So but you went

Brad Miller:

through anyhow tell us about some of the steps you went ahead

Brad Miller:

and took that help you break through all these what are some

Brad Miller:

of the steps what are some of the actions that you took to

Brad Miller:

have a breakthrough

Kelly Baader:

I often say that I don't like the phrase called

Kelly Baader:

self made because it personally I don't believe that a person is

Kelly Baader:

a self made. Okay. As a Christian first of all I know

Kelly Baader:

right in the Bible say Who is the one give us a power to

Kelly Baader:

create wealth? That's number one, right? I know that I cannot

Kelly Baader:

be where I am today even now because of God. Number two and

Kelly Baader:

because of when God called us to specific mission right he's a

Kelly Baader:

grace is over that specific mission. Now that grace also

Kelly Baader:

mean the resources the connection of the people I got a

Kelly Baader:

lot of help along the way while there are the naysayers but on

Kelly Baader:

the other side, you know, I also had people believing me God

Kelly Baader:

literally speak when I was still in self denial about Okay, come

Kelly Baader:

on, Lord, I really cannot start a podcast you just you just hear

Kelly Baader:

what that coach told me. And yet, God has a way that he made

Kelly Baader:

me to attend a conference in UK this specific year. While most

Kelly Baader:

of the people in our conference it's awesome British podcasters

Kelly Baader:

and when God asked me to attend a conference I thought well

Kelly Baader:

okay, I mean it's great as you know in business is a great way

Kelly Baader:

to to make connection and also in I was in that mindset, I go

Kelly Baader:

there to make a lot of friends and connection and all that so

Kelly Baader:

there was a keynote speaker he he is from us is Dan Miller.

Kelly Baader:

Yeah so Dan Miller wrote 48 days to do a thing you love

Kelly Baader:

right. And so there was speaking about you know, the topic I was

Kelly Baader:

like, couple weeks before that because I look at the speaker

Kelly Baader:

list so I followed them for a while and so I went to his

Kelly Baader:

Facebook page and it just happened he posts his lovely

Kelly Baader:

wife Joann Miller's art and in our talk about Joann gonna have

Kelly Baader:

this new book come out with one of their granddaughter. So I

Kelly Baader:

thought, Oh, he is awesome. He will be nice to speak to Joann.

Kelly Baader:

So so please notice all these is are going inside my heart. I

Kelly Baader:

didn't speak it out. You know, I did not kind of pray about it or

Kelly Baader:

anything, right. So when we got to England, in London, actually

Kelly Baader:

and after that, Dan finished his speech and he gave the five

Kelly Baader:

minutes my time that people ask question. So if you ask

Kelly Baader:

question, and I was allowed to raise my hand, I just want to

Kelly Baader:

ask the questions in nothing do his business. I say, you know,

Kelly Baader:

Dan, I just really curious that, how do you and Joann manage to

Kelly Baader:

raise three generations of entrepreneurs from home? That

Kelly Baader:

was my question. And Dan has a very big smile on his face. And

Kelly Baader:

he looked at me said, I wish more people asked that question.

Kelly Baader:

And he say, you know, I can do it better. So I would like my

Kelly Baader:

wife answer your question, why they now know nobody actually

Kelly Baader:

know the wife was all the way in the back of the conference hall,

Kelly Baader:

we had that conference about 300 plus people. So now I saw Joann,

Kelly Baader:

and just a walk pass by me and went to the front. And be honest

Kelly Baader:

with your Brad, that moment, whatever she was saying, I did

Kelly Baader:

not even hear. Because in my mind, I had conversation with

Kelly Baader:

God. Now, God's kind of telling me that well, you have little

Kelly Baader:

faith. You don't think I will manage to get her to get to see

Kelly Baader:

you in person, don't you? So after the conversation, and we

Kelly Baader:

have a coffee break, and everybody was cued, I want to

Kelly Baader:

take picture with Dan a speaker, I was standing in distance, and

Kelly Baader:

I was still in awe of how that just happened. Then they wave me

Kelly Baader:

over. And then say, Kelly right, you asked that question and say

Kelly Baader:

yes. And he said, Oh, you know, it's a great question. And then

Kelly Baader:

Joann asked me what is your podcast. I say, I don't have one

Kelly Baader:

yet. That sounds like a bit of a God thing sound like a bit of a

Kelly Baader:

God thing to me, Kelly right there.

Kelly Baader:

Exactly. That moment, I was like, ah, and then they went on

Kelly Baader:

to say, Oh, so what is the podcast about? I say, I guess it

Kelly Baader:

will be something for Christian entrepreneurs. And then it was

Kelly Baader:

that they really didn't hear my hesitation, as if that they

Kelly Baader:

didn't really hear that I don't have a podcast just yet. And

Kelly Baader:

then went on to say, Oh, so do you want to guess? I think

Kelly Baader:

that's a great topic. Do you want a guest? Do you want us to

Kelly Baader:

help? I mean, people queue up trying to get Dan to on their

Kelly Baader:

podcast. Here I am. I don't have one. And they want to be on my

Kelly Baader:

show.

Brad Miller:

That's awesome. Well, I have the opportunity to

Brad Miller:

have Dan on my podcast and actually to meet his daughter

Brad Miller:

who is a quite an entrepreneur as well. And so yeah, way to go.

Brad Miller:

That's how like a God thing there. And I'm really into that.

Brad Miller:

And I know what a huge part of your focus Kelly is taking

Brad Miller:

action, you know, and that's what you did. You weren't afraid

Brad Miller:

to ask the question. And you had a leading then to take the

Brad Miller:

question from a little different angle towards family life and

Brad Miller:

towards, towards Joanne, God worked through that in order for

Brad Miller:

a new opportunity to come. In fact, your focus, you say you're

Brad Miller:

focused and passionate about helping Christian coaches,

Brad Miller:

Kingdom Leaders, and service providers to help them grow

Brad Miller:

their businesses elegantly. And I love the way you phrase that.

Brad Miller:

But let's talk a little bit about this faith based aspect

Brad Miller:

and about in your life, about the faith based part about the

Brad Miller:

Christian part about the connection to higher power, how

Brad Miller:

does that inform you? How does that not only inform, but form

Brad Miller:

you and especially in terms of your choice then to really

Brad Miller:

target Christian entrepreneurs. Tell us a bit about your faith

Brad Miller:

life in terms of being an entrepreneur.

Kelly Baader:

He also started in 2012. And he was when we still

Kelly Baader:

live in Vegas. And one day on my birthday. In November, about

Kelly Baader:

five o'clock in the morning, I I have my kind of little routine

Kelly Baader:

with the Lord on my birthday. I take communion with God with

Kelly Baader:

God. So that morning, you know, I prepare my elements, my coffee

Kelly Baader:

and my Bible. And I was standing in kitchen and all of a sudden I

Kelly Baader:

sense a very strong presence behind my back. Because I

Kelly Baader:

thought okay, that probably is my husband came downstairs to

Kelly Baader:

say happy birthday, because that's that real that presence.

Kelly Baader:

So I even turn around and to see that you know to about greet

Kelly Baader:

him. But when I turn there was no people.

Brad Miller:

So just be clear. You felt that you felt the

Brad Miller:

actual physical presence not

Kelly Baader:

Yeah. Is this somebody is staying so close to

Kelly Baader:

your back. You were with you, right? And I turned around and

Kelly Baader:

there was nobody there. So I knew I'm quote, cool. I'm in

Kelly Baader:

trouble now. Because at the same time, all the sudden, as if

Kelly Baader:

somebody tried to spray pan around my kitchen, because now

Kelly Baader:

everything pour, except my Bible is clear. And I also found that

Kelly Baader:

my knees are shivering, that I need to use my two hands against

Kelly Baader:

the kitchen counter. In order to still stand still. Then I heard

Kelly Baader:

the voice Happy Birthday Kelly.

Brad Miller:

Oh, it just I just want to make clear you hear like

Brad Miller:

an audible voice not like an inner voice, you have some sort

Brad Miller:

of an audible voice.

Kelly Baader:

I feel that I heard audible voice a happy

Kelly Baader:

birthday, Kelly. And I say thank you. Thank you Abba. And then

Kelly Baader:

the following question is I wasn't prepared for it. Then he

Kelly Baader:

asked me, What do you want for your birthday? Our two children

Kelly Baader:

then they were young. They were in the toddler age. And as

Kelly Baader:

parents we tried to teach about faith. So about three weeks

Kelly Baader:

before that day, we kind of wrote down a letter to God,

Kelly Baader:

right? So kids, they write down whatever they they are believing

Kelly Baader:

God for all the way from something they know toy to the

Kelly Baader:

biggest ticket. It's my mother's salvation, because my mother is

Kelly Baader:

the same woman who kicked me out of the house when I want to

Kelly Baader:

become a Christian. So that is the biggest item. So when God

Kelly Baader:

asked me, What do you want for your birthday? I was thinking

Kelly Baader:

right where I was, while we're thinking about that later,

Kelly Baader:

somehow I was able to hold back because then I thought if this

Kelly Baader:

is the only opportunity ever I can answer that question. I

Kelly Baader:

better think three times before I opened my mouth. My answer was

Kelly Baader:

okay, Lord, this is gonna sound cheesy. But if you can give King

Kelly Baader:

Solomon that wisdom, I will lie that too. Also, I like for my

Kelly Baader:

children

Brad Miller:

No greater gift you're gonna ask for than

Brad Miller:

wisdome.

Kelly Baader:

nice. And I sense that he has a very big grin on

Kelly Baader:

his face. And he told me, since you ask that it is granted. Oh,

Kelly Baader:

by the way, those things on that letter. also granted now is

Kelly Baader:

about side note, so about about putting about less than 20 days,

Kelly Baader:

every single thing on that letter, including my own mother

Kelly Baader:

salvation, which I pray for over 10 years came to pass

Brad Miller:

What a joy, what a joy that has to be

Kelly Baader:

and then we can back out to the to the kitchen.

Kelly Baader:

Then God asked me say "do you love me", may I told Lord say,

Kelly Baader:

Can we skip three times? Right? That just that just have to the

Kelly Baader:

final times. Either way, you know, my heart, he said, Okay, I

Kelly Baader:

said, he said after this place, which is Las Vegas, then you

Kelly Baader:

will still have one place to go. We didn't know we were still

Kelly Baader:

moved to another place before we came back to Switzerland. And he

Kelly Baader:

said, usually I want to go after you guys go home, I need you to

Kelly Baader:

start to put a banner up to vote for Christian entrepreneurs. I

Kelly Baader:

asked Lord say Why? You know, either at that moment, I have

Kelly Baader:

clients, both from Christian and non Christians, you know, the

Kelly Baader:

business was fine was doing well. I was thinking why should

Kelly Baader:

I you know, nail down to two just for Christian

Kelly Baader:

entrepreneurs. And, and, and he's, he's here saying he said

Kelly Baader:

because allow my children don't know how to operate. in the

Kelly Baader:

marketplace. I was serving inside a church. My husband and

Kelly Baader:

I we were used to founding members of local church in Las

Kelly Baader:

Vegas. And two years later God calls I'll say no, now you can

Kelly Baader:

go back to marketplace because that's your place. And so he

Kelly Baader:

said, You know how to operate in the marketplace. Because each

Kelly Baader:

several mountains, right, each single mountain has its own

Kelly Baader:

measurement stick. So

Brad Miller:

you felt this calling then this ad very

Brad Miller:

distinctive, I'm understanding you clearly Kelly, from your

Brad Miller:

calling on your birthday was for the gift of wisdom. And then the

Brad Miller:

mission of that wisdom was to apply it towards Christian folks

Brad Miller:

who either had a passion for an entrepreneur, but needed the

Brad Miller:

tools needed some marketing expertise, needed some coaching

Brad Miller:

in order to accomplish that, because I come from a faith

Brad Miller:

based background, Pastor background, nonprofit

Brad Miller:

background, and there's just a whole lot of folks in my world,

Brad Miller:

our world, if you will, who don't get it who don't know,

Brad Miller:

don't have the tools or the means or the tracking to

Brad Miller:

accomplish things that way. And sometimes there's even some

Brad Miller:

spiritual blocks you saw on you know, I don't want to be a

Brad Miller:

prophet and make a profit and so on like this. Am I correct? And

Brad Miller:

this is what you find your calling to be. And if that's the

Brad Miller:

case, that I do like to hear some of the tools and some of

Brad Miller:

the habits some of the practices that you teach people and came

Brad Miller:

up with yourself

Kelly Baader:

what eats the major difference? Walker has

Kelly Baader:

asked me to do it now can we narrow it down, we focus on what

Kelly Baader:

we call power, one framework, power of one framework. And that

Kelly Baader:

even how that came along is not from my own wisdom. It's in any

Kelly Baader:

No 2019 before I I was invited to speak on a very pretty

Kelly Baader:

prestigious entrepreneur event in London. Before that, I asked,

Kelly Baader:

I said, What do you want me to share? Because the speakers were

Kelly Baader:

all in a list. You know, there was Chris Ducker's Youpreneur

Kelly Baader:

summit. You know, his phrase, Michael Hyatt, you know, Pat

Kelly Baader:

Flynn, you know, so I asked, What do you want me to share?

Kelly Baader:

And God said, just share that one thing that you always have

Kelly Baader:

your client to break through to the next level, he lost 12 or 14

Kelly Baader:

years. And so that was a non Christian event. So I had

Kelly Baader:

watched how I presented, then God gave me that word one. And I

Kelly Baader:

said. So okay, so that's where how we say, how do you, you

Kelly Baader:

know, serve your number one client with your number one

Kelly Baader:

solution. By, the number one communication and by the current

Kelly Baader:

best version of you. So it's 1-1-1-1. Because most of the

Kelly Baader:

pieces of marketing program out there, they will tell you go to

Kelly Baader:

find your avatar and then package your stuff and sell it.

Kelly Baader:

But they forgot about the very important element is a business

Kelly Baader:

owner themself. Because we all have those moments of we know

Kelly Baader:

exactly what we should be doing today. But we cannot pull

Kelly Baader:

ourselves to do it. There is a gap between where you are now to

Kelly Baader:

where God is pulling you up to. And that is the identity not

Kelly Baader:

alligned right there. That's where that we will take that

Kelly Baader:

part first, before we dive into serving your clients and

Kelly Baader:

packaging offer.

Brad Miller:

And so that's part of the process, you teach on

Brad Miller:

your powerofoneframework.com and at your site. KellyBaader. com.

Brad Miller:

And, and there are some strategies and some efforts and

Brad Miller:

some passion that you have here. And I love the way you had

Brad Miller:

talked about the action steps to grow and scale your business

Brad Miller:

elegantly. I love love that as well, in terms of how people can

Brad Miller:

do this, because I think what you touched on here is where I

Brad Miller:

want to go next with you Just for a couple minutes Kelly and

Brad Miller:

that's relationships you talked about. You've talked early two

Brad Miller:

things you talked about your your kind of your (I like to

Brad Miller:

call it your vertical), the vertical your relationship with

Brad Miller:

with God, your your inner life, your personal life, that

Brad Miller:

presence that was with you. But you've also now talked about how

Brad Miller:

that relationship with the entrepreneur themselves and with

Brad Miller:

the customer, or with the person that they are serving is

Brad Miller:

paramount as well. And I love I think it is a defining part of

Brad Miller:

your approach here. Let's talk about that about how the power

Brad Miller:

of relationships a motion, that the loving aspect of being an

Brad Miller:

entrepreneur, what's important about that, what is what can you

Brad Miller:

help teach our audience about that about how that's part of a

Brad Miller:

transformation as well, that we have to have that emotional,

Brad Miller:

loving, sharing a servant's heart with others,

Kelly Baader:

I think, you know, generally speaking, as

Kelly Baader:

Christians, we all have a heart We want to help people, right? I

Kelly Baader:

think what what we are often lacking what I see, it's that

Kelly Baader:

you don't know how to communicate properly, you you

Kelly Baader:

know, you have to communicate because we are in living in this

Kelly Baader:

digital world. And there is no lack of information out there.

Kelly Baader:

So you really need to work on how you cannot just communicate

Kelly Baader:

that my mentor John C. Maxwell say how to connect with people

Kelly Baader:

that happened in your, in your website, the copy that happened

Kelly Baader:

in your email that that happened to your social media platform,

Kelly Baader:

your posts are everything. And also you have to really

Kelly Baader:

genuinely, genuinely care about people right? Because in Kingdom

Kelly Baader:

principle is all about people. And if you are trying to fake

Kelly Baader:

it, people can can smell you know, a mile away. So I think

Kelly Baader:

one of the biggest advantage I always say as Christians

Kelly Baader:

actually we should be the best marketer out there. Right?

Kelly Baader:

Because we have a so much advantage, you know, from the

Kelly Baader:

basic biblical principle and just look at the Jesus example,

Kelly Baader:

right? He always reach out to different type of people, you

Kelly Baader:

know, he he, he will not just always sit there and let people

Kelly Baader:

come to him, but he will reach out.

Brad Miller:

Love your message, love your passion. But I love I

Brad Miller:

would like to get very pragmatic and personal just for me in this

Brad Miller:

sense here, Kelly, and that is, let's talk about some people

Brad Miller:

that you've served and what I what Beyond Adversity is all

Brad Miller:

about is this transformative process from people being stuck

Brad Miller:

in whatever it is because you could have been stuck anywhere

Brad Miller:

along the line. You could have been stuck as that little girl,

Brad Miller:

you know, with all kinds of family issues. You could have

Brad Miller:

been one of those early business leaders who said you're not

Brad Miller:

going to We'll do that lots of people would stop right there

Brad Miller:

wouldn't you know lots of people would say be blocked right

Brad Miller:

there. But you moved yourself through and now you're working

Brad Miller:

with people who may be facing similar adversities to whatever

Brad Miller:

they are, they may be. Maybe it is being a woman, maybe it's

Brad Miller:

being someone who has life issues. Maybe it's a Christian,

Brad Miller:

who doesn't have a wealth of confidence in the business world

Brad Miller:

in the marketing world. I'd like you to share maybe a story or

Brad Miller:

two at least one about some person or company or some

Brad Miller:

situation that you've worked with or been around that has

Brad Miller:

that you've seen some transformation?

Kelly Baader:

Yeah, I think there are many in our clients

Kelly Baader:

love example, I call them clients love in my website, if

Kelly Baader:

you guys want to see go ahead to you know, have a look. But I now

Kelly Baader:

came to mind I can share because many of them I can share one

Kelly Baader:

came to my right now, it's one of the pianists, she you know,

Kelly Baader:

she's a very special pianist. Because before that kind of

Kelly Baader:

intimate, larger wedding pianist. So she's not only go

Kelly Baader:

there to play music for you, but she also basically compose music

Kelly Baader:

specifically for the couple. So it's very, like a high, highly

Kelly Baader:

tailored and customized service, something like that. So when she

Kelly Baader:

came to me, and she told me, she we got burned out, because, you

Kelly Baader:

know, she had many requests, and by she knew she she doesn't

Kelly Baader:

charge enough fee, in order to do what the highly tailered

Kelly Baader:

service, right, that total, they're gonna take a lot of

Kelly Baader:

energy and resource in a first stab at that. And so I asked

Kelly Baader:

her, so you knew exactly, you need to hire your, you know,

Kelly Baader:

raise your price, and why you your stuck, why you cannot. And

Kelly Baader:

she said, Well, I am afraid that if I charge higher price, I will

Kelly Baader:

lose more clients, and oh, I cannot find new clients. And

Kelly Baader:

this is a very typical and very complex situation, right? And

Kelly Baader:

because the they don't have a confidence to raise their price.

Kelly Baader:

So that moment is not about there's no amount of external

Kelly Baader:

saying about, okay, let's try another tech tactic or

Kelly Baader:

marketing. There are moments precisely we say why we work in

Kelly Baader:

a power One is we need to work from inside out. So we actually

Kelly Baader:

in we instead of from outside, we take an inventory of her, you

Kelly Baader:

know, good and bad, ugly, the experience, but also her

Kelly Baader:

expertise. And we dive into right her past and all the

Kelly Baader:

situations. So then we we through the process to

Kelly Baader:

assessment. And then she realized and opened her eyes and

Kelly Baader:

she realized what she could offer is really a whole lot more

Kelly Baader:

valuable than what she thought is not about the money, the

Kelly Baader:

money, the price tag, we can put it on, there's no problem. But

Kelly Baader:

until you feel comfortable, comfortable with it. So after we

Kelly Baader:

walked by, like three weeks in, and then there was opportunity,

Kelly Baader:

she cannot go to a place like a little similar audition, a lot

Kelly Baader:

of couples will be there. She did her thing. And then in the

Kelly Baader:

end, of course people asked her about her price. Then she

Kelly Baader:

created a new set of price sheet. And then she explained to

Kelly Baader:

the Okay, this is a package of one and two and three, and she

Kelly Baader:

upped the prices three times then the price the original

Kelly Baader:

price. And then she got orders on the spot booked. And she was

Kelly Baader:

so excited that it was we're talking about 16,000 British

Kelly Baader:

pounds.

Brad Miller:

We're not just about an incremental we're

Brad Miller:

coming to a significant increase right

Kelly Baader:

now was the three x for that . Okay, so and then

Kelly Baader:

she was so excited, she came back to our small group, a

Kelly Baader:

mastermind, she told us, you know, what a breakthrough of

Kelly Baader:

that, but I think she was in tears is not that tears is not

Kelly Baader:

for the price. But it's like she finally could see

Brad Miller:

it, affirm it affirmed her value, you know,

Brad Miller:

when we receive compensation, whether it's monetary

Brad Miller:

compensation or an accolade of some sort, or even a hug from my

Brad Miller:

granddaughter, that is an affirmation of my value. And so

Brad Miller:

what I'm hearing you say here, Kelly, is it. Your teaching and

Brad Miller:

your coaching is about helping people to transform and value

Brad Miller:

themselves as a child of God, and also someone who offers

Brad Miller:

value to other people. And that's, I love your part. You

Brad Miller:

say here, one part is compassion driven marketing. And that's not

Brad Miller:

only about compassion about others, it's about yourself,

Brad Miller:

isn't it?

Kelly Baader:

Yeah, because for me pricing, it's about honor.

Kelly Baader:

Both your clients and your own value is not Just a number

Brad Miller:

transformative thing we're talking about here

Brad Miller:

and I really appreciate it and and you're speaking to an

Brad Miller:

audience that I think in some ways is underserved, meaning

Brad Miller:

Christians who are in the marketplace and want to really

Brad Miller:

thrive in the marketplace. And I think that there's a great value

Brad Miller:

of that. I thank you for your service. Her name is Kelly
