Dr. Brad Miller::

Diane Randall, welcome to Beyond Adversity.

Diane Randall::

Thank you for inviting me. I'm so happy to be here.

Dr. Brad Miller::

It's awesome to have you. With us here today

Dr. Brad Miller::

on Beyond Adversity. As I mentioned in our

Dr. Brad Miller::

comments, you do have quite the story to tell

Dr. Brad Miller::

you that a lot of things happen in your life,

Dr. Brad Miller::

and you have come to a different place in

Dr. Brad Miller::

life where you are right now making a huge

Dr. Brad Miller::

contribution to folks through your website,

Dr. Brad Miller::

dianerandallconsults.com, and through your

Dr. Brad Miller::

book, but let's hear hear a bit about your

Dr. Brad Miller::

story of how you had to face some real

Dr. Brad Miller::

challenges some real adversities in your

Dr. Brad Miller::

life that you had to come to terms

Dr. Brad Miller::

with let's hear your story.

Diane Randall::

Well, I'll tell you the most traumatic

Diane Randall::

and I'll say that because of that

Diane Randall::

happened when I was really young,

Diane Randall::

even though I've had lots of adversity.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes.

Diane Randall::

My sister was murdered when I was 19 years old.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Oh, my goodness. Can we just pause to say

Dr. Brad Miller::

I'm so sorry, let me just pause right there to

Dr. Brad Miller::

say I'm so sorry about that event of your life.

Diane Randall::

And that, you know, even where I am

Diane Randall::

now, and I look back, that is probably

Diane Randall::

the most traumatic thing that happened in

Diane Randall::

my life. But it also set me on a course to

Diane Randall::

where I am today.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes.

Diane Randall::

So my sister was murdered. And at that

Diane Randall::

time, you know, she died, we went to a

Diane Randall::

funeral and we all just moved on.

Diane Randall::

Well, at least that's what we thought.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes.

Diane Randall::

So I would say in my 20s. And keep in mind,

Diane Randall::

I was very unconscious about this. I was

Diane Randall::

so sad, not knowing that I was depressed,

Diane Randall::

but I was just sad. Just really, really sad.

Diane Randall::

Didn't stop me from getting married.

Diane Randall::

And having a couple of kids, all right,

Diane Randall::

but I was walking around in a fog, I

Diane Randall::

really didn't know how to be happy.

Diane Randall::

I did have something inside of me that

Diane Randall::

said, I just don't want to feel like this for

Diane Randall::

the rest of my life. And I never equated

Diane Randall::

it to my sister's death. That could be

Diane Randall::

why I was feeling the way I was feeling.

Diane Randall::

So I wanted to be happy. But I didn't

Diane Randall::

feel at that time in my life I had

Diane Randall::

anyone that was happier. And

Diane Randall::

that's my perception from 19-20

Diane Randall::

year old, right? No one was happy.

Diane Randall::

So how can I get happy? So I

Diane Randall::

started reading books. At that

Diane Randall::

time, the Internet was not even,

Diane Randall::

you know, a thing, right? I started

Diane Randall::

reading books, I started going to I

Diane Randall::

won't say I went to church, but I would

Diane Randall::

go to like a nondenominational

Diane Randall::

gatherings just to hear about what it

Diane Randall::

was like to take some type of control

Diane Randall::

and power in your life. So I kept reading

Diane Randall::

the books. And then one day over

Diane Randall::

time, I just kept driving and driving

Diane Randall::

and driving and I thought I was past

Diane Randall::

the death. And I just kept navigating

Diane Randall::

around reading, just getting feedback

Diane Randall::

from the world that you know, you're

Diane Randall::

just not in a good place. Didn't like

Diane Randall::

sounds firecrackers any I was very afraid.

Diane Randall::

And I thought I was gonna die at any second.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Okay.

Diane Randall::

But what that did for me, it caused me

Diane Randall::

to look at okay, what is death?

Diane Randall::

What is death about? Because that

Diane Randall::

was the scariest thing for me and

Diane Randall::

I was wearing it every day. So I

Diane Randall::

started going to like workshops,

Diane Randall::

you know, you read then one thing

Diane Randall::

leads to another you go to workshop,

Diane Randall::

I go I went to workshops. I talked to a

Diane Randall::

lot of people about I talked to a lot of

Diane Randall::

people and read about how to heal from

Diane Randall::

Inside Out, which was something,

Diane Randall::

you know, wow, really.

Diane Randall::

So, as time passed, I went on with my life,

Diane Randall::

I got married, I had kids, I had an

Diane Randall::

awesome career. But there was this

Diane Randall::

side of me that was still really depressed

Diane Randall::

and withdraw, even though I faked it

Diane Randall::

pretty good. You know, I got a great job

Diane Randall::

and navigate it. But I wanted to be true to

Diane Randall::

myself, and really figure out what I

Diane Randall::

could do to just be happy. So I started

Diane Randall::

reading, I started soul searching

Diane Randall::

and going a lot to therapy. Okay, see how

Diane Randall::

I could feel better about my life. And it's

Diane Randall::

so interesting, because I never thought,

Diane Randall::

Oh, my sister died. This is why I'm so sad.

Diane Randall::

I was so disconnected from that, which

Diane Randall::

now I think about it, which is kind of weird.

Diane Randall::

But reading, going to workshops, listening

Diane Randall::

to different spiritual teachers put me on a

Diane Randall::

journey myself to healing. I started out

Diane Randall::

going to like personal life coaching classes,

Diane Randall::

I became a life coach, I became a wellness

Diane Randall::

coach just trying to dig in and figure out

Diane Randall::

what the heck is going on with me as

Diane Randall::

I've gone to therapy, and then the and

Diane Randall::

then another thing I did was, I like the

Diane Randall::

way I started to feel as I read as I connected

Diane Randall::

on a spiritual level with groups,

Diane Randall::

teachers, so I ended up going to

Diane Randall::

school to get a master's in spiritual

Diane Randall::

psychology. And man, that was a

Diane Randall::

very experiential experience. Because

Diane Randall::

that allowed me to really dig in.

Diane Randall::

I call it an excavation at the time.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Interesting terminology, I like it.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Really, we're talking a lot about

Dr. Brad Miller::

digging deeper, and you know,

Dr. Brad Miller::

your inner life. So that makes some sense. Yeah.

Diane Randall::

Yeah. So I called it an excavation,

Diane Randall::

because I was aware that I was feeling

Diane Randall::

better. And I was also aware that I had

Diane Randall::

a lot of healing to do.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes. Had a lot of digging to do didn't do you.

Diane Randall::

A lot of digging to do. All my education

Diane Randall::

and training for a long time, it just showed

Diane Randall::

me that I had an awareness that I had

Diane Randall::

a lot of digging to do.

Dr. Brad Miller::

What's that? This what an awesome story

Dr. Brad Miller::

in this kind of legend and a pathway towards

Dr. Brad Miller::

what you do now and teaching and leadership

Dr. Brad Miller::

and writing books about healing and

Dr. Brad Miller::

wholeness and your health? And, so you

Dr. Brad Miller::

took some interesting turns for yourself, didn't you?

Diane Randall::

I took some very interesting turns,

Diane Randall::

because what I didn't realize was

Diane Randall::

all that inner trauma weakened my body.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Okay.

Diane Randall::

You know, carrying all that. And I had no

Diane Randall::

clue. I had a lot of stress at that. You

Diane Randall::

know, at a certain point, I was divorced,

Diane Randall::

I had two little kids, I had to take care

Diane Randall::

of just trying to deal with the challenges

Diane Randall::

of life. So I had a lot of stress. And my

Diane Randall::

body was breaking down at a very young age.

Dr. Brad Miller::

So you had some health challenges that

Dr. Brad Miller::

it sounds like, well,

Diane Randall::

Yes, I had chronic blood pressure, high

Diane Randall::

cholesterol, my doctor said I was on a path

Diane Randall::

to in the future, you're going to have a heart

Diane Randall::

attack if you don't get that metabolic

Diane Randall::

connection together. That's what he used to say to me.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Get your act together?

Diane Randall::

Oh, well, yes.

Dr. Brad Miller::

He became aware of the interconnection,

Dr. Brad Miller::

your physical health and your spiritual life

Dr. Brad Miller::

and your your mental health and all that. The integration

Diane Randall::

It was the integration of all that. So as I

Diane Randall::

learned, and what things that made

Diane Randall::

me feel better, I started sharing it with

Diane Randall::

people. Keep in mind, I'm a IT consultant,

Diane Randall::

technology consultant. I wasn't even

Diane Randall::

thinking about going into wellness.

Diane Randall::

But my journey and my search to

Diane Randall::

help myself, lead me down a path

Diane Randall::

to sharing with others about the things

Diane Randall::

I learned. People notice how, you know,

Diane Randall::

oh, what are you doing? You know,

Diane Randall::

you just look different, you know.

Dr. Brad Miller::

What would you say? What, maybe a

Dr. Brad Miller::

couple of the really? You've mentioned

Dr. Brad Miller::

some already, but what would you say

Dr. Brad Miller::

were some of the pivotal action points

Dr. Brad Miller::

that you took, because you were talking

Dr. Brad Miller::

about where you started from. You had

Dr. Brad Miller::

your depression, your sadness, as you

Dr. Brad Miller::

said, that had to relate it to, you know,

Dr. Brad Miller::

the death of your sister and you had a

Dr. Brad Miller::

divorce and you had just overwhelming

Dr. Brad Miller::

sadness, this sense of fear of death. Fear

Dr. Brad Miller::

seemed like a big part of what you were experiencing.

Diane Randall::

Yes.

Dr. Brad Miller::

But a lot of people stay stuck there. You know,

Dr. Brad Miller::

as you know, a lot of people stay stuck in those states.

Dr. Brad Miller::

For a long time, and you were there for quite

Dr. Brad Miller::

a while it sounds like, but then you made

Dr. Brad Miller::

a couple of decisions, some defining moments.

Dr. Brad Miller::

And if you would like you see if you could

Dr. Brad Miller::

pinpoint some of those couple those defining

Dr. Brad Miller::

moments that set you on the path that you're on now,

Diane Randall::

One moment was, I want it to be happy.

Diane Randall::

I wanted to feel better. I acknowledge that

Diane Randall::

I had a lot going on inside of me that I

Diane Randall::

needed to figure out even though I had no

Diane Randall::

clue where to start initially. So I started doing

Diane Randall::

different things, reading, work, you know,

Diane Randall::

just any just trying different things. That

Diane Randall::

was the first thing. And I took responsibility

Diane Randall::

for my health. I took responsibility for

Diane Randall::

my actions, and not blaming everybody,

Diane Randall::

I thought, cause the these problems.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yeah. So articles, outer influences, and

Dr. Brad Miller::

you turn them around to you to be a

Dr. Brad Miller::

motivation to change your inner life.

Dr. Brad Miller::

In order to be a better person. That's great.

Dr. Brad Miller::

So yet, please a couple things. I'm here

Dr. Brad Miller::

either you took full responsibility, and

Dr. Brad Miller::

you had a bigger vision about what

Dr. Brad Miller::

you know, you want to get better.

Dr. Brad Miller::

You were sick and tired of being sick

Dr. Brad Miller::

and tired of sound like

Diane Randall::

That's right.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Is that a fair? Is that a fair?

Diane Randall::

That is very fair, that is very fair.

Dr. Brad Miller::

So I'm a big believer here that you

Dr. Brad Miller::

got to take action. You got to do

Dr. Brad Miller::

something. You know, you were in a

Dr. Brad Miller::

state, we have to somehow find the

Dr. Brad Miller::

wherewithal, you know, whatever it is.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Your mind state, your physical pain, your

Dr. Brad Miller::

sometimes people are motivated by caring

Dr. Brad Miller::

for the kids or whatever it is that you got to

Dr. Brad Miller::

get out of that state. So that's awesome.

Diane Randall::

I want it out. And not knowing, not knowing

Diane Randall::

how to get out wasn't big, a big enough

Diane Randall::

reason not to do it. Because that feeling

Diane Randall::

of staying where I was, was a deeper pain,

Dr. Brad Miller::

You leverage the pain to to have life

Dr. Brad Miller::

transformation. Let's talk for a second

Dr. Brad Miller::

thing. Diane, you've mentioned a

Dr. Brad Miller::

couple times about you went and

Dr. Brad Miller::

got a some education in spiritual psychology.

Dr. Brad Miller::

And you talked about delving into some

Dr. Brad Miller::

spiritual aspects of your life. And I'm interested

Dr. Brad Miller::

in talking a little bit about how life transformation

Dr. Brad Miller::

how that informed your trance, your transformation,

Dr. Brad Miller::

about sensing something bigger than yourself

Dr. Brad Miller::

a spiritual life, meditation, other practices

Dr. Brad Miller::

like this. Tell me about this spiritual

Dr. Brad Miller::

aspect to your transformation.

Diane Randall::

Well, every time I went to hear a spiritual

Diane Randall::

teacher, or I started some type of

Diane Randall::

educational workshop, I would, I

Diane Randall::

would feel something deep inside

Diane Randall::

of me, I relate it to that, or I aligned

Diane Randall::

with some of the messaging that I was

Diane Randall::

getting. Keep in mind, I didn't know a

Diane Randall::

lot of that time. But being able to see

Diane Randall::

other people share their experiences,

Diane Randall::

and also connecting with people that

Diane Randall::

would be in the audience, when they

Diane Randall::

would talk about their experiences.

Diane Randall::

Sometimes I would just get triggered, and

Diane Randall::

I would relate so deeply to what they were

Diane Randall::

saying. So being in a room, or the energy of

Diane Randall::

other people that also had adversity or

Diane Randall::

challenges in our life really helped me to

Diane Randall::

not only just own what was coming up for me,

Diane Randall::

but to trust that I could share to trust

Diane Randall::

that as I heard others talk about their

Diane Randall::

experiences that I could write, I could

Diane Randall::

navigate through it. I could go get through

Diane Randall::

it, no matter how painful it felt at the time.

Diane Randall::

I could get through it.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes

Diane Randall::

We say over and you have to go through it.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yeah, yeah. I think you had kind of this revelatory

Dr. Brad Miller::

type of experience that you knew that the

Dr. Brad Miller::

transformation had to be not only about

Dr. Brad Miller::

the deal with the pain, but you had to go

Dr. Brad Miller::

to your inner life, your spiritual, deep places

Dr. Brad Miller::

in order to have healing and so it's both end.

Dr. Brad Miller::

You got to take action, you got to, you know,

Dr. Brad Miller::

get going, you can't stay stuck. And that's

Dr. Brad Miller::

part of that exploration process, you know, just

Dr. Brad Miller::

trying stuff. And then

Diane Randall::

Yes.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Part of what you tried and had some residents

Dr. Brad Miller::

for you was the spiritual development and

Dr. Brad Miller::

had you must have thought enough about it.

Dr. Brad Miller::

You went and got a advanced degree in

Dr. Brad Miller::

spiritual psychology. So that's awesome.

Diane Randall::

Yeah, just said one thing kept leading to

Diane Randall::

another, you know, a talk, a workshop, a book.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yeah.

Diane Randall::

And then I just go in here. A lot of speakers.

Diane Randall::

A lot of teachers talk about different things.

Dr. Brad Miller::

That's great.

Diane Randall::

And there was a teacher on stage talking

Diane Randall::

about her experience in spiritual psychology.

Diane Randall::

I heard what she said it touched me so deeply

Diane Randall::

the next day, I looked up to school and I called.

Dr. Brad Miller::

In a way you went.

Diane Randall::

In a way I went, I flew to Santa Monica, California

Diane Randall::

for two years. On a weekend.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yeah.

Diane Randall::

And I say, with having my children, that was the

Diane Randall::

second best experience that had I've had life experience.

Dr. Brad Miller::

So that was a transformational moment. That

Dr. Brad Miller::

was one of those pivotal. Well, those pivotal

Dr. Brad Miller::

moments we've been talking about here.

Diane Randall::

Yes.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Well, let's talk for a minute about I like to

Dr. Brad Miller::

talk about the you know, the action side,

Dr. Brad Miller::

which is taking action in the spiritual side.

Dr. Brad Miller::

I also like to talk about kind of the cognitive

Dr. Brad Miller::

imprint of what you do. What I mean by that is,

Dr. Brad Miller::

how did these experiences in lead to implementing

Dr. Brad Miller::

life changing your life. I'm talking about habits

Dr. Brad Miller::

or practices or the way you live your life, your

Dr. Brad Miller::

everyday life now, as opposed when you were

Dr. Brad Miller::

in that sad state? What are some of the things

Dr. Brad Miller::

that you do now they mean, you may have

Dr. Brad Miller::

learned in your education or have applied in your life now

Diane Randall::

I've learned that I have to stay integrated in

Diane Randall::

some type of upliftment, whether it's group,

Diane Randall::

a spiritual group teaching, and I get a lot from

Diane Randall::

teaching personal growth classes, inner strategies

Diane Randall::

is what I say I teach inner tools and strategies.

Diane Randall::

I get so much upliftment from being in that setting.

Diane Randall::

All that I practice yoga, I practice meditation, I have

Diane Randall::

a lot of physical activity in my life, not just running

Diane Randall::

to the gym. I surround myself with people who

Diane Randall::

I call them my tribe, people that I'm aligned

Diane Randall::

with lots of coaches and creators, people who

Diane Randall::

have small businesses like minded people.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes, yes. Also you mentioned, you mentioned

Dr. Brad Miller::

several things here meditation and yoga and

Dr. Brad Miller::

surrounding yourself with the like minded

Dr. Brad Miller::

people and be in kind of in an environment

Dr. Brad Miller::

that is helpful to you. And that's important

Dr. Brad Miller::

to have an understanding of the need to

Dr. Brad Miller::

have a life change. You've got to implement

Dr. Brad Miller::

new habits. And sometimes that means even

Dr. Brad Miller::

new people in your life or expanding your

Dr. Brad Miller::

environment or expanding your influences

Dr. Brad Miller::

to people who influence you and who you

Dr. Brad Miller::

influence. So let's talk a little bit about that.

Dr. Brad Miller::

I really believe relationships, that emotional

Dr. Brad Miller::

part of this is important part two, and let's talk

Dr. Brad Miller::

for a minute about the power of relationships

Dr. Brad Miller::

in life change for you, and how we can

Dr. Brad Miller::

implement that and others about some people

Dr. Brad Miller::

may been helpful to you, or how you have

Dr. Brad Miller::

used relationships to help empower yourself.

Dr. Brad Miller::

That could have even not only be your

Dr. Brad Miller::

interpersonal, but it could be like books

Dr. Brad Miller::

or tapes, or, you know, people on stage.

Dr. Brad Miller::

But tell me about relationships in terms

Dr. Brad Miller::

of life change for you.

Diane Randall::

I always say I've had several pivotal people

Diane Randall::

in my life. People that just knowing that my life change.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes.

Diane Randall::

I have a best friend and I, my friend Roz,

Diane Randall::

I call her my angel. And she's been in my

Diane Randall::

life for 30 years. She's and she's enough

Diane Randall::

older than me, where she's been a mentor.

Diane Randall::

She's been a big sister. She's been an angel.

Diane Randall::

She's always been in my life as an observer,

Diane Randall::

but she has always, and what I what I love

Diane Randall::

about her now, and I did when I was younger,

Diane Randall::

because she would look at the big picture,

Diane Randall::

she wouldn't side with me. She was just there

Diane Randall::

to observe. And if I asked her questions, she

Diane Randall::

turned around and asked me a question when

Diane Randall::

I'm looking for the answer from her.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes. Okay. Well, that's awesome.

Diane Randall::

She, even to this day, I call her my angel.

Diane Randall::

Depending on you know, what's going on,

Diane Randall::

but she's been there. Because I've had friendships,

Diane Randall::

and I learned the hard lesson that sometimes

Diane Randall::

relationships run their course. It's not bad,

Diane Randall::

it's not good. They just run their course. And

Diane Randall::

she helped me to understand that and be

Diane Randall::

good about it.

Dr. Brad Miller::

And so those relationships are impactful

Dr. Brad Miller::

in different seasons of life, you know, as

Dr. Brad Miller::

well in terms of you maybe have a need

Dr. Brad Miller::

as a you know, as a young person, you

Dr. Brad Miller::

may have dead different ages when you're,

Dr. Brad Miller::

you know, in your 20s or 30s or different

Dr. Brad Miller::

seasons of your career things like this.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Mentorships take come into play and

Dr. Brad Miller::

but it's also good I love to hear you

Dr. Brad Miller::

say about that long term relationship.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Whether Roz which was meaningful

Dr. Brad Miller::

over the long term And that's me,

Dr. Brad Miller::

there's a certain value to that which

Dr. Brad Miller::

is significant. If now you've turned your life

Dr. Brad Miller::

into mentoring and helpful and being

Dr. Brad Miller::

serving others, you know this, they get so important.

Dr. Brad Miller::

You've written a book called Jumpstart your Life.

Dr. Brad Miller::

And you've got several coaching and teaching

Dr. Brad Miller::

and things like that. Let's talk a bit about what

Dr. Brad Miller::

you how you how you've taken your experiences,

Dr. Brad Miller::

Diane, and how you now are taking all these things

Dr. Brad Miller::

we've talked about here; your pain and your situations

Dr. Brad Miller::

and your research and your education and your

Dr. Brad Miller::

everything you've got. And now you're serving others.

Dr. Brad Miller::

So tell us what about that. What are people going to

Dr. Brad Miller::

find in your book? What are people going to find in

Dr. Brad Miller::

what you offer?

Diane Randall::

First people are going to find in my book

Diane Randall::

that started out as a article I wrote for a

Diane Randall::

small magazine about a single mom who

Diane Randall::

stepped out of her comfort zone, and created

Diane Randall::

a life in another city, who with no friends and

Diane Randall::

no family, no support network. So then it evolved

Diane Randall::

into a presentation where, you know, I would

Diane Randall::

someone would ask me to talk to single moms

Diane Randall::

and, and I would do that then I started teaching

Diane Randall::

at an adult enrichment program at a college here in

Diane Randall::

Chicago. And I was able to create my own classes.

Diane Randall::

So I taught that taught the class; it became jumpstart

Diane Randall::

your life because it it teaches people how to

Diane Randall::

navigate through your current situation. There's

Diane Randall::

exercises where you can look at every aspect of

Diane Randall::

your life, figure out what you truly want. And take

Diane Randall::

it to write an affirmation to support what you want.

Diane Randall::

And we walked through several exercises and

Diane Randall::

affirmations to where by the time you leave the

Diane Randall::

class or you read the book, you have at least

Diane Randall::

two ideas or two actions that you can take

Diane Randall::

to start down the path of what you really want.

Diane Randall::

What what life you really want. I was asked a

Diane Randall::

question, what do you really want?

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes, that's awesome. So that's the part

Dr. Brad Miller::

of the Jumpstart, you know, what you really

Dr. Brad Miller::

want is to how do you get things going?

Dr. Brad Miller::

How do you get things fired up? So yes, yeah, well,

Dr. Brad Miller::

that's awesome. So what are what are folks,

Dr. Brad Miller::

let's just say that there is a younger version of

Dr. Brad Miller::

Diane, something with some similar life circumstances

Dr. Brad Miller::

in her life, single mom, or whatever the

Dr. Brad Miller::

circumstances may be. And she is somehow

Dr. Brad Miller::

heard about you, perhaps for this podcast, or

Dr. Brad Miller::

some of the other things you've done? What

Dr. Brad Miller::

are they going to find when they reach out to

Dr. Brad Miller::

you and your website? And what are some of

Dr. Brad Miller::

the resources that you have available to them?

Diane Randall::

What resources I have available? I have assessments.

Diane Randall::

Actually my workshop up my I have assessments.

Diane Randall::

How do I how well do I know myself?

Diane Randall::

What's the right life balance?

Diane Randall::

And those are so you can take and kind of figure out?

Diane Randall::

Oh, and stress? You know, where's your stress level?

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes

Diane Randall::

That's a big one. So just to take these assessments

Diane Randall::

just to kind of see where you are.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Yes.

Diane Randall::

With each of those things, I talked about

Diane Randall::

launching a whole like wellness community,

Diane Randall::

for people to join, and we talk about how to,

Diane Randall::

we'll all work together on tools and strategies,

Diane Randall::

exploring ideas on how to create a life that we

Diane Randall::

truly want, no matter how busy you are in your life.

Diane Randall::

I have four courses that I offer to the courses that

Diane Randall::

I teach at the college I've also created them online

Diane Randall::

now so that people can in the community can take

Diane Randall::

the courses and have support. And I actually will

Diane Randall::

be doing a Zoom meeting once a month to answer

Diane Randall::

questions, to cover different topics to support the

Diane Randall::

groups. I'm very, very excited about that.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Lots of resources there. I've taken a look at your

Dr. Brad Miller::

pitcher website. dianerandallconsults.com, lots of

Dr. Brad Miller::

good information there. And let's talk for a minute

Dr. Brad Miller::

here about the results. What I mean by that is I'm

Dr. Brad Miller::

sure you've worked with a lot of folks and let's talk

Dr. Brad Miller::

about a example person or persons you may have

Dr. Brad Miller::

worked with where you have seen some real life

Dr. Brad Miller::

transformation take place. Can you share with us

Dr. Brad Miller::

kind of a you know, a example of someone you've worked with?

Diane Randall::

I can share an example of let's say, and I work

Diane Randall::

with a lot of Believe it or not middle aged people,

Diane Randall::

women and men but women mostly. And I have

Diane Randall::

people that, and this is huge that I meet in class

Diane Randall::

or that come to me to talk to me, they want to

Diane Randall::

change their life. But they just don't know what

Diane Randall::

to do. And then when you when when I talk to

Diane Randall::

them, there's so many, just getting them past the

Diane Randall::

barriers that are keeping them stuck are huge.

Diane Randall::

So I would say I talked to a lot of people about

Diane Randall::

boundaries, because that's typically where we start.

Diane Randall::

What are boundaries? Or some people don't even

Diane Randall::

know that boundaries are the issue for them because

Diane Randall::

they're stuck. And they just don't know how to move

Diane Randall::

past them. And if I talk to them about moving past

Diane Randall::

them, I have all the reasons why I can't

Dr. Brad Miller::

So you've seen some profound change in people It sounds like

Diane Randall::

I have profound and it's you know what, it's small,

Diane Randall::

it's one step at a time. Sometimes people talk to me,

Diane Randall::

and change is so painful, they decide they don't

Diane Randall::

want to do it. Because if I have to change, then

Diane Randall::

I'll probably divorce my husband. And I'm just not

Diane Randall::

ready for what that means that that's been a real scenario.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Well, that's all like, you know, there's a lot of

Dr. Brad Miller::

sometimes for some folks, it's take that first

Dr. Brad Miller::

step is how far tiny it is, it's huge. And for

Dr. Brad Miller::

some folks, I got to take one step forward

Dr. Brad Miller::

and step back and then

Diane Randall::

Yes

Dr. Brad Miller::

you know, take, reassess and do some things there.

Dr. Brad Miller::

But some great resources here. So tell us what about

Dr. Brad Miller::

how people can get a hold of you, Diane, if the

Dr. Brad Miller::

through your website tell us what about how

Dr. Brad Miller::

they can make connections with you if they want to

Dr. Brad Miller::

reach out to you

Diane Randall::

People can reach me, certainly at my website,

Diane Randall::

Diane Randall::

It's really easy to get in touch with me. I do a

Diane Randall::

lot of teaching speaking podcast because I love

Diane Randall::

talking about how to create life. And now I love

Diane Randall::

contributing my story. acknowledging my pain,

Diane Randall::

and a lot of times that connects with other people

Diane Randall::

where they share their pain.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Well, that's a healing part for you as well, isn't it?

Dr. Brad Miller::

So? Yes, it is. Yes, it is. So that's awesome.

Dr. Brad Miller::

So it's all integrated, all comes together,

Dr. Brad Miller::

we become healed as we are seeking to

Dr. Brad Miller::

be contributed to the wellness of others. And that's all about you

Diane Randall::

People are my mirror, they're my mirror.

Dr. Brad Miller::

Well, you, you have a great story to tell Diane,

Dr. Brad Miller::

it's all about taking small steps towards a huge life.
