PTP.002 : God’s Gift of Taking Bold Action

In episode 002 “The Pathway to Promise” podcast Dr. Brad Miller presents the second of the five foundational episodes which present the core teachings on which the pathway to promise process is built. The title of the episode is “The Foundational Gift of Taking Bold Action.”

The Pathway to Promise Promise is grounded in the belief that every person has a God-given promised life of peace, prosperity and purpose and you must implement a planned pathway with the proper people to quickly overcome life’s challenges to achieve that promised life.

The first foundational principle of the pathway to promise process is “The Foundational Gift of Taking Bold Action.”

Dr. Brad extrapolated these four principles from 2 Timothy 1:7 “God does not give us a spirit of timidity but the spirit of power love and self-discipline”

Taking bold action flows directly from the statement “God does not give us a spirit of timidity”

Dr. Brad uses the story of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1915 expedition to Antarctica as a framework for presenting a process of gaining clarity of vision through an alliteration.

“V” for Version: What version of yourself do you want to see when you emerge from a wilderness experience and have achieved your promise life.
“I” is for Initiate: Initiate is to cause (a process or action) to begin. It means you are responsible for getting things started to find your promised life.
“S” is for Stepping Up: Stepping up means to keep going, keep doing the things you need to do over and over again as you develop new habits which will move your closer and closer to your promised life.
“I” is for Immunize from excuses: To immunize means to be inoculated from any defeatism, depression, fear of failure, bad attitude or peer pressure which we use as excuses or rationalizations that impede our progress towards our promise life.
“O” is for Opportunity: Failure will inevitably occur along your pathway to promise. When you fail you can either give up and quit or you can see every failure as an opportunity to grow.
“N” is for Now: This is the belief that the best time to take action is without delay do it now.
